Bio ⌊ el•e•gy ⌋ a mournful, melancholy, or plaintive poem esp. a funeral song or a lament for the dead. ⌊ welcome to the city ⌋ It's dark when you arrive. An extra train station at the end of the rail where the conductor yells "last stop! everybody off!" before pulling away and leaving you behind. You're in an unfamiliar city not on the map, and as the train disappears around the bend you can't shake the feeling that you're not where you're supposed to be. Yet surely things will look better in the morning so you decide to stay in the hotel across the street, the name outlined in flickering neon: The Mezzo Hotel. When morning comes you realize this is no ordinary city. A strange, small device called a Tone has been placed in with your belongings which will provide maps and general information at your request. To your dismay you discover that there is no train station across the street any longer, only a dilapidated and empty lot. A strange melody begins to softly play -- like having a song stuck in your head, but you can't locate the source as it seems to come from everywhere at once. The tune will follow you, so you'd better get used to it; the ones who don't end up going mad. Elegy is a city of violence juxtaposed with the serenity of eternal music. A place where two rival Houses rule the mean streets, the dead do not always rest in peace, and music itself can be the most deadly weapon. ⌊ the music's in your soul ⌋ Elegy is a community-based, panfandom roleplay game played out in a red light district setting where music influences all aspects of the city and even gives characters strange abilities.
